A lot of people hesitate on this one. Don’t. Here’s exactly what you need for each order size.
Half Beef
8–12
cubic feet
A half beef gives you approximately 180–220 lbs of finished beef.
- A standard chest freezer (7–9 cu ft) fits a half beef comfortably
- A standard side-by-side fridge freezer compartment (8–12 cu ft) usually works
- An upright freezer of 10 cu ft or more is more than enough
If your freezer is currently full of other food, clear it out before pickup day.
Whole Beef
16–22
cubic feet
A whole beef gives you approximately 350–430 lbs of finished beef.
- A large chest freezer (15–25 cu ft) is ideal
- Some customers split the order across two freezers
- A standard fridge freezer alone will not be enough
